Compliance on a peer-to-peer foreign-exchange marketplace is not a single identity check completed at registration. It is an ongoing set of controls that helps the platform understand who is participating, how accounts are being used, whether settlement follows the stated purpose and when activity needs closer review. These controls protect legitimate members as well as the marketplace.

Verification is risk-based. Email and phone checks establish basic contact channels. Identity documents and government identification connect an account to a real person. Address and business verification provide additional context where higher limits, commercial activity or client-authorised accounts are involved. A verification badge should be understood as the result of completed checks at a point in time, not as a promise that every transaction by that member is risk-free.

Transaction conduct matters after verification. Members should create accurate listings, use receiving accounts that belong to them or to an authorised client, select the correct settlement route and explain legitimate third-party funding where the platform permits it. Splitting payments to avoid scrutiny, disguising the real beneficiary, using an unrelated account or providing false evidence undermines the integrity of the marketplace and can trigger review.

NairaFX may retain records needed to operate protected trades, respond to disputes, investigate security concerns and meet applicable obligations. That can include verification decisions, account references, trade-room messages, uploaded documents, confirmation events and administrative review outcomes. Access should be limited according to staff responsibilities, and sensitive details should not be copied into public messages or shared with an unverified counterparty.

When a trade is flagged, review does not automatically mean wrongdoing occurred. A repeated counterparty pattern, unusual amount, reused receipt or inconsistent payment route may simply require an explanation and supporting evidence. Members help the process by responding truthfully, preserving original documents and avoiding attempts to alter the record.

The practical rule is straightforward: provide accurate information, trade for a lawful purpose, use only authorised accounts, follow the protected settlement sequence and cooperate with proportionate review. Members who make honest mistakes should correct them promptly. Deliberate deception, repeated violations or unsafe handling of other people’s funds may lead to restrictions, penalties or account deactivation.
